The Masked Singer judge and Saturday night TV star Mo Gilligan has issued a plea to EastEnders bosses, calling for them to cast him in the BBC soap.
Despite the success of his current night venture, The Lateish Show, Mo has revealed that he would be open to taking his career in a new direction.
Having recently flexed his acting muscles in new animated film 10 lives, Mo has expressed his desire to do more acting, calling for EastEnders to offer him a role.
The BBC soap is currently at the top of its game, so it is no wonder that Mo would be wrangling for a part.
‘It’s the dream to pursue and do more acting.’ The comedian told The Sun.
‘I’ll take anything. Put me in EastEnders as an extra with Winston on the fruit stall.’
It is not out of the realm of possibility for Mo to land a part in EastEnders, with several celebrities having appeared in a guest role over the years, including the soon-to-be King and Queen of England.
The most recently announced guest was Cheryl Baker of Eurovision fame, who will make a guest appearance at Kathy Beale’s (Gillian Taylforth) Eurovision themed birthday party in upcoming episodes.
In the event that he were to be turned down for an EastEnders role, Mo offered a humble alternative.
‘I’ll take Bond,’ he revealed, ‘but I want to be a villain.’
Despite his big dreams, Mo is eagerly anticipating the return of his ‘baby’ to Channel 4 this week, as the fourth series of The Lateish Show kicks off.
‘It’s such a pleasure having my own show and this is my baby in the sense that I’ve started it from the ground up.
‘I’ve won some awards along the way and we keep making it better, so I’m really excited for it to come back.’
