Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley) starts a fire at the Kathy's Café in the hope of clearing his debts in EastEnders spoilers. But what he doesn’t realise is that Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) is trapped inside.
Rocky searches for a way of paying back the money he borrowed from Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) without his wife Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) finding out exactly how much debt he’s in. Eventually Rocky confides in Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) about his new plan, he’s going to set fire to the café and claim money on the insurance.
Harvey offers to take out a loan to help Rocky out, but when he discovers Rocky has been in the bookies again, he takes it back. With nowhere left to turn, Rocky heads to the café while Kathy waits for him at Walford East.
Rocky tampers with the electrics and starts a fire before going to his unsuspecting wife. However Bobby sees the blaze and as he attempts to put out the flames, the café explodes and Bobby ends up trapped and unconscious.
Also in Walford, the search for Albie continues and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) conceals the ransom note from the police. Elsewhere, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) fumes at Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) fearing the consequences they’ll face after the fake kidnapping.
They secretly drop a second ransom note detailing a time and location for the cash. Sharon reasons they must go along with the kidnapper’s wishes but Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) suggests he’ll drop the money and deal with the low life that took him.
Worrying that Phil will discover what he’s done, Keanu manages to convince Sharon to let Karen do the money drop in exchange for Albie – will Keanu get away with his plan?
Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) reluctantly make plans on the renovation of their new shop ‘Beale’s Eels’, but the Knights are appalled at them for their new business plans. Plus Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) and Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) head to the hospital for their first round of IVF.
However after administering their first round of IVF, Sonia and Reiss have a huge row.
With tension in the air at home, Reiss drowns his sorrows at The Vic and opens up about his fertility issues with George Knight (Colin Salmon), Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) and Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter).
