A police officer was left red-faced when he turned up to shut down a noisy party but was mistaken for a stripper.

In a TikTok video posted on the alisabyquar account, the police officer can be standing sheepishly near the door while a number of women crowd around holding aloft their phone to film him.

Above the general din the yell can be heard: ‘Stripper, stripper’.

It was an awkward case of mistaken identity for this NSW police officer when he attended a rowdy party

The officer smiles awkwardly as he continues to talk to the partygoers.

‘When the cops rock up to shut down your event but you all think he’s a stripper,’ the video’s caption reads.

Further commentary is added beneath.

‘The way he ended up just leaving because everyone started twerking around him,’  alisabyquar writes.

Potentially adding to the officer’s blushes, one of those commenting believes she knows who he is.

‘Omfg hang on, ima ask my man if this guy worked at his station. I swear I’ve seen him before,’ the comment reads.

‘If he works in Sydney City then it’s probably him,’ the account holder replies with laughing emoji.

Another partygoer confirmed that is what happened.

‘And then we all start twerking on him,’ they wrote.

The officer managed to keep his cool while being subject to some enthusiastic female attention

‘He loved it so much he left ahahaha,’ another comment said.

Some expressed sympathy for the officer’s plight.

‘Poor bloke,’ one commented.

However, others thought that it wasn’t such a trauma.

‘Guy’s highlight of his career,’ they commented.

Police have been contacted for comment.
