A Toorak mansion that comes with the requisite tennis court and swimming pool has been linked to cricket champ Ricky Ponting after trading for about $20 million.
The former Australian cricket captain is understood to have bought the six-bedroom home in Melbourne’s priciest suburb.

The property was listed with a price guide of $19.6 million to $21.5 million and marked as sold online last night.
Selling agent Mike Gibson of Forbes Global Properties confirmed the sale but declined to comment on the price or the buyer.
Two sources with knowledge of the deal who could not speak publicly said the home sold within the quoted price range. The price and buyer’s details will become public on settlement.

Public records show the seller is EY partner Nicola Commins.
The apparent purchase by Ponting, who now has an eponymous foundation helping cancer patients, and roles as a commentator and coach, was first reported by the Herald Sun.

The home is set on 1400 square metres and comes with open-plan indoor-outdoor living spaces and a modern kitchen.
Gibson said its design had been refined by the trifecta of architect Nicholas Day, landscape designer Paul Bangay and late interior designer Stuart Rattle.
“You don’t get three better exponents of their crafts,” Gibson said. “They have pieced together a really beautiful family home.”
Gibson’s other recent sales include a Macquarie Road, Toorak, pile that came with a price guide of $28 million to $30 million.
He also handled the sale of Little Milton, in Albany Road, which traded within its price guide of $27 million to $29 million.
“The market is as strong as it has ever been in Toorak,” he said.
