Jacklyn Bezos
His mother was very young when she had Jeff but returned to school to finish her education, often taking her young son to night classes with her when it was permitted.
It was Jacklyn and Mike who loaned Jeff $245,000 (£195k) in 1995 to start his business venture.
He did point out to them at the time that there was a 70% chance they would not see their loan again.
MacKenzie Bezos
The wife of Jeff Bezos, she is also a famous American novelist.
Born and raised in California, she graduated from Princeton University.
After taking up a writing course under Toni Morrison, she was earmarked as the best writer on the course and was to go on and win the 2006 American Book Award.
Two of her most famous books are Traps and The Testing of Luther Albright.
The couple have four children, three boys and a daughter who they adopted from China.
Mark Bezos
The step-brother of Jeff Bezos, Mark has a very different outlook on life by comparison.
He worked as a communications manager for some years while also being part a poverty-fighting charity in New York.
Mark Bezos was also the captain of a volunteer fire company in the city.
