- It comes as boozy revellers celebrate the start of the long bank holiday weekend
Boozy revellers have flocked to Britain’s bars and beaches as yesterday marked the start of the long bank holiday weekend.
Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle were among the countless cities heaving with crowds last night who will soon be relishing their extra day off on Monday.
Many partygoers were dolled up in dresses and heels as they made their way across packed streets, while others showed off humorous over-sized sunglasses.
Thousands will also head to Reading Festival today, with the likes of The Killers and The 1975 performing, before Billie Eilish takes the stage tomorrow.
Their celebrations come despite yellow weather warnings across some parts of the country this weekend, with harsh rainfall threatening to cause huge travel delays.
But Reading, Leeds and Creamfields may just be off the hook this time, as forecasts here suggest there will be some sunny spells over the next four days.
