Tributes to 'lovely and smiley' mum, 24, after pedestrian is killed in crash as family say 'this shouldn't be happening' | The Sun

HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid after a mum. 24, was fatally hit by a car.

Hollie Hodgkinson tragically died on Tuesday night after being run down by the vehicle in Harlow, Essex on Sunday morning.

Officers responded to calls at around 10.30am and the young mum was rushed to the hospital where she sadly passed away from her injuries two days later.

She had been walking down First Avenue as a pedestrian when the horrific collision occurred near St Mary at Latten Church.

Essex Police confirmed the driver stopped at the scene and has been co-operating with enquiries.

A spokesperson for the force said that "no offences have been identified".

"We were called to First Avenue in Harlow at around 10:30am on Sunday, 2 July following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian," the spokesperson confirmed.

In a heart breaking tribute, Hollie's family said: "We as a family are absolutely devastated.

"Everyone that knew Hollie would know just how many hearts she touched, how lovely and smiley she could be.

"We know she deserves the best day on her funeral. This shouldn't be happening at all but we will for her our Hollie.
