Dick Van Dyke reveals workout routine at 95 years old

Dick Van Dyke certainly knows how to treat a lady – especially when she keeps him young at heart.

The 97-year-old actor is set to bask in a special CBS celebration of his life and career at the end of this month to celebrate his 98th birthday, which is on December 13.

During the taping of the two-hour special Dick Van Dyke 98 Years Of Magic, the Hollywood legend made his love for his wife, Arlene Silver, 52, known in a clip that his personal photographer, Laura Johansen, shared on Instagram.

Dick, who officially turns 98 on December 13, smiled as he looked over at his wife, who was all decked out in a navy-blue gown and cape while sitting in a chair in a dressing room, according to People.

“You look like a movie star,” he told Arlene, just before another voice asked: “Doesn’t she?”

“She really does, doesn’t she?” Dick reiterated as Arlene smiled back at him from the other side of the room, as he admitted: “I saw her first!”

The adorable moment comes after Dick revealed that his wife, whom he wed in 2012, contributes to his youthful life at 97.

Speaking to Yahoo, the Mary Poppins actor joked that his relationship with Arlene is one of the many things that have kept him feeling young through the years.

When asked what keeps him youthful, he told the outlet: “Genes, I guess, for one thing. Having a beautiful young wife half my age to take care of me — that works!

“My positive attitude, I get that from my wife,” he added, as he noted: “I still go to the gym three days a week and work out.

“And I advise everybody to do that, because that’s what ages people — it’s just a stiffening up and not exercising their muscles and their lungs. Exercise is the answer.”

He was previously married to Margie Willett from 1948 to 1984, but she sadly died from cancer at 81 in 2008.
