Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s second daughter’s name is finally revealed after split

The name of Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’ second daughter has been revealed, more than a year after her birth.

Sophie, 27, and Joe, 34, who are in the midst of divorce proceedings, have always been notoriously private about their family life and didn’t announce the name of their second child when she was born 14 months ago.

However, according to custody filings that have been obtained by US mag PageSix, the little girl’s name is Delphine.

The unusual name originates from the Greek, “delphis”, which means dolphin and is pronounced “del-feen.”

Sophie and Joe are also proud parents to three year old daughter Willa, who they welcomed in June 2020.

Previously, both girls had simply been referred to by their initials, WJ and DJ, in court documents released to the public.

Sophie and Joe have been caught in the middle of contentious court proceedings, that saw the former Game of Thrones actress accuse her ex of forcing their children to stay in the United States.

According to court documents filed on 21 September, Sophie alleged Joe had “wrongfully retained” Delphine and Willa’s passports.

Joe disputed this allegation.

Sophie filed to take her kids back to their “habitual residence” in the UK. She also claimed that their marriage of four years deteriorated "very suddenly" after an argument on Aug 15, which happens to be Joe's 34th birthday.

Sophie was born in Northampton and grew up in the leafy town of Chesterton in Warwickshire.

Joe, who is currently in the middle of a world tour with his band The Jonas Brothers, filed for divorce on 5 September.

Responding to the custody battle, a representative for Joe said that they had been in their father’s care “for the past three months” and highlighted the fact that both girls were born in the US.

The statement then said that they have spent “the majority” of their lives in America, and highlighted the fact that both girls are US citizens.

Despite Sophie’s push to relocate the girls, both parties have now temporarily agreed to keep their two daughters in New York State until a court can decide on a formal custody agreement.
