Wheeler Dealers add ‘elaborate complicated design’ on car
Mike Brewer of Wheeler Dealers has taken to Twitter (X) to explain that his stolen vintage Fiesta hasn’t been found, following enquiries from concerned fans.
@chrisbedford17 quizzed: “Did u find your stolen car after?”(sic) only for the Ford ambassador to tell his 148,000 followers that the classic model is sadly “still missing”.
@WDTravelinghat branded the crime “absolutely sickening”, while @samthebman lamented: “It’s probably in pieces and sold off by now.”
“Was the only dampener on what was a fantastic day at Motorist,” @AndyMortimer6 added, in reference to a car show at which Mike had been planning to showcase the vehicle.
This particular model was especially significant as the car represented Ford’s first-ever venture into producing front-wheel-drive vehicles around the world, back in the 1970s.

Mike and his Wheeler Dealers co-star Marc Priestley had published a video at the time explaining how “heartbroken” they were that it had been taken.
Pleading with the public to help, Marc stated: “We are heartbroken and it’s a car that deserves to be out there for the world to see, not squirrelled away on the back of some thief’s trailer.”
Mike sadly yet proudly added: “This has been a nuts and bolts restoration. I dare to say that we’ve possibly built the best Mk1 Ford Fiesta in this country – it really is this good.”
The pair can be seen on their Discovery Channel show as they restore vintage vehicles to their former glory before attempting to sell them on at a profit.

They’d been deeply proud of their efforts with the 1979 MK1 Ford Fiesta 1300S, only for a thief to disappear with it during the night while they slept at a Premier Inn in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
The pair had left their vehicle at the scene following a car show they’d attended together in nearby Sherburn, on the Vale of Pickering.
Pointing to the fact it would no longer be showcased at The Motorist festival, the devastated TV stars begged: “We have had our star car STOLEN on the biggest ever #wheelerdealers day!! Please help and RT [retweet].”
Mike is deeply emotional about his cars at the best of times, once admitting that he had a tendency to “cry his eyes out” at the end of episodes of Wheeler Dealers.
In one interview published on Take To The Road last year, Mike recalled how he’d burst into tears at the fate of one car owner, Mark, who can be seen in episode two, series two.
“Usually I cry at the end of the episodes… but when I first met Mark, I was sobbing my heart out,” he exclaimed.
“This is his last chance to enjoy motoring [as] he’s got a debilitating illness with no cure and its going to hit him in a few years.
“He wanted to have that last hurrah and thrill ride with his son and go out and enjoy the countryside. That really tugged at my heart strings,” he added.
“We made sure we got him the best Caterham 7 for sale in the UK at that time and it was an amazing episode!”
