Ex-Arsenal star Gervinho, 35, 'agrees transfer terms with Greek outfit Aris after injury-plagued season at Tranzonspor' | The Sun

FORMER Arsenal winger Gervinho is reportedly set to depart Trabzonspor after just one season having agreed terms with Greek outfit Aris.

The 35-year-old, who failed to hit the heights at the Emirates between 2011-2013, only joined the Turkish side last year from Parma.

But he is now set to depart following an injury-hit campaign where he was limited to just nine matches.

The Ivory Coast international suffered a horror anterior cruciate ligament in October which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.

Though he still managed to pick up a Super Lig winner's medal, with the forward chipping in with two goals and an assist prior to his injury.

Having played in England, France, Belgium, China, Italy and Turkey, the ex-Gunners flop is now poised for a new adventure.

According to Sport 24, Aris are closing in on the signing of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations winner.

They state that the ex-Roma man is expected in Greece on Wednesday to undergo his medical before penning his contract.

The Greek news outlet has said that Gervinho will earn no more than £424,000-a-year.

That works out at just over £8,000-a-week.

His wages are a huge drop from the £24k-per-week salary he was on at Trabzonspor.

It remains to be seen what the length of the contract will be at Aris, who finished third in the Greek top-flight last term.

Sport 24 have declared that Gervinho could put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal at the Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium.

Or the winger could land himself a contract until 2023 with the option of a further year.
