Bake Off fans baffled by Paul Hollywood's 'rude' remark about contestant's age | The Sun

BAKE Off fans have been left baffled by Paul Hollywood's 'rude' remark about a contestant's age.

Tuesdays edition of Bake Off saw the contestants tackle Dessert Week.

As usual, Paul, 56, and fellow judge Prue Leith, 82, made their way around the tent to find out what the bakers were making.

As they approached Dawn, 60, Paul said: "Morning mum, erm, Dawn!"

He added: "You do remind me a little bit of my mum…"

But Dawn was quick to point out: "I'm not that much older than you!"

However, viewers weren't impressed by his comments, with one writing on Twitter: "Woah Paul Hollywood is just 4 years younger than Dawn and he’s calling her mum. #rude #gbbo."

Another added: "Lol Dawn is 60 and Paul is 56 #Mum #GBBO."

A third tweeted: "Dawn is four years older than Paul #GBBO…"

While fans of the show admitted Carole had been like a cat with nine lives, they still thought IT manager Dawn should have been the one to bite the bullet.
