Emmerdale's Charity horrified at Mack and Chloe's 'plan to leave the village'

Emotions were running high in Friday’s (May 12) edition of Emmerdale as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) discovered more information about Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) one-night stand, and the months leading up to baby Reuben’s birth.

This storyline has been long, so we’ll forgive you if you’ve forgotten a few details here and there.

Once Mackenzie first discovered that Chloe was pregnant with his baby, he wanted her to have an abortion.

Of course, Chloe wasn’t going to stand for that and proceeded with the pregnancy.

As the story developed, Sarah (Katie Hill) learnt the truth and even tried to make Chloe move to Scotland – something she was actually going to do recently, up until Reuben became unwell and ended up in hospital.

It was Chloe’s move to Scotland that Charity slightly misinterpreted tonight, as she headed to the hospital to confront her about the secret.

Charity was so angry and upset, it was a given she wasn’t seeing things completely clearly, so when Chloe revealed the idea to move to Scotland, and the fact Mackenzie had offered to buy her and Reuben a flat, Charity thought she meant her husband was planning a secret life away from the village.

No doubt more worried about Reuben’s health than the drama unfolding, Chloe didn’t really engage or make an effort to convince Charity that wasn’t the case and returned to the hospital room to keep an eye on her son.

After learning that Ryan (James Moore) knew of Mack’s betrayal and that Sarah had also been involved in the lies, Charity could barely look at them both.

She did, however, look at Mackenzie one final time, telling him to get out of the house as now, he’s lost everything.

With Mack convinced he can work through this struggle with Charity, are they going to get back together, or is he being delusional?
