Good Morning Britain faced a major presenter shake-up after Richard Madeley was replaced by Rob Rinder.

Richard, 66, typically hosts the ITV show on a Monday, but was notably absent from Monday morning's (August 15) instalment which was instead fronted by Charlotte Hawkins and Rob Rinder.

The Rob Rinder verdict host hasn't been present in the ITV studio for months, having last presented back in March alongside Susanna Reid.

Viewers immediately took to social media and were delighted at the 44-year-old's return, with one user writing: "@GMB YAY Rob Rinder is back! Sooooo happy, love it when he is on. He's the best."

"@RobbieRinder @GMB Yes oh yes, Rinder is back!" exclaimed another.

Richard revealed he was taking a break from the show while presenting Wednesday morning's instalment (August 11).

Presenting alongside Charlotte, 47, the broadcaster's admission came during a discussion about the recent heatwave which damaged the grass in his garden.

Issuing advice on using soap and water on his lawn, Charlotte chimed: "But if anything too greasy, they sort of say, save that for the trees and the more established grubs."

She added: "Well, there's like layers of what kind of water you can use depending on where you water."

Richard assured he had adopted that technique already as he interrupted: "Thank you, teacher," adding: "We have a result as we started doing this last Tuesday."

He then let slip that he would be taking a break from GMB and wanted to show his results before he departed for an unknown amount of time.

"Tuesday or Wednesday. It's a bit earlier but I'm not on the show for a while, so I thought I'd show you what we've got so far," he said.

Richard was replaced by Channel 4's Rob Rinder who hasn't been handed hosting duties on the ITV show in a few months.

After hosting the show back in March, viewers demanded his stint should be made more permanent and took to social media with their claims.

One viewer penned: "If you’re looking for a male producer to partner Susanna Reid then give the job to Rob Rinder the best yet in my opinion."

“Glad to see Rob Rinder back, his calm and gentle style of presenting is much needed right now," added another.

Good Morning Britain airs week days on ITV from 6am.
