Im A Celebrity star pulls plug on first trial as they never got going

Babatunde Aleshe may have already said, “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here”, after appearing to pull out of his first terrifying trial.

The comedian and Gogglebox star, 34, was joined by Footballer Jill Scott and Loose Women's Charlene White, storeys up on the roof of the Focus building on the Gold Coast for the show’s first trial.

The funnyman was said to be in quite a fluster as the nerve-racking first trial, called The Ledge, kicked off and had the celebs walking across a wobbly beam.

One onlooker even claimed: “Babatunde looked nervous before the challenge began and he never got going.”

In the first released images of the challenge, the three celebs had been told the game’s rules by show hosts Ant and Dec as they prepared themselves for the trial.

The celebrity trio – who had to complete the trial simultaneously – reportedly waited 45 minutes before beginning the task as one musketeer, believed to be Babatunde, had second doubts.

According to reports, a yellow tilting ledge had also been added to the plank, making it even more challenging.

Jill and Charlene geared into action and reportedly stormed through to the end of the plank as they had been tipped up as they held onto a bar with their hands behind their back.

However, while the two women successfully completed the trial, Babatunde reportedly could be seen shuffling along his plank with the Gogglebox star stopping and then returning to the roof in fright.

Afterwards, TV bosses examined the platform for any issues, but whatever happened, Babatunde did not finish the trial and could be seen with his head in his hands.

The terrifying challenge was the first of many for the contestants as filming began on Friday (November 4) on the Gold Coast.

This year’s batch of celebrities are reportedly being split into three groups and some will enter the camp after the first show airs on Sunday night (November 6) on ITV.

Most of the cast for the 2022 edition of the show have now been announced, including DJ Chris Moyles, MP Matt Hancock and Loose Women star Charlene White.
