Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) receives devastating news in upcoming EastEnders scenes, following a collapse outside the gym.
Towards the end of last year, Lola was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour, following a series of seizures that left her and her family concerned.
Lola underwent several months of treatment to prolong her life, before being informed that it had stopped working.
She was devastated to learn that she only had six months left to live, but was determined to carry on, keeping life as normal as possible for daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown).
Recently, Lola made the difficult decision to finally give up work, after months of pushing through the pain.
In order to give her a good send off, Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) plans a leaving do, complete with karaoke.
As her family and friends gather for the leaving party at the salon, Lola finds herself feeling overwhelmed, and heads outside for some air.
However, panic soon sets in among the partygoers as they realise that she hasn’t returned.
It isn’t long before Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) finds her on the floor outside the gym, confused after having collapsed.
Billy and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) take her home, where she realises that her speech and mobility has been affected by the ordeal.
When Lola wakes up in hospital the next day, she has Billy, Jay and Ben (Max Bowden) by her side.
A doctor approaches and delivers some shattering news: her palliative chemotherapy treatment hasn’t worked.
