Major Big Brother security scare as bosses ramp up safety measures after incident | The Sun

BIG Brother bosses have had to ramp up security at the house after a YouTuber attempted to film contestants using a drone.

Producers fear that as the buzz surrounding the ITV2 reboot continues it won’t be the last time a stunt like it is pulled.

So they want to protect the location to ensure the mammoth project can continue without fear of interruptions or distractions.

The YouTuber tried to fly a drone over the house last week and hacked into the show’s radio system to listen to the TV crew’s conversations.

He refused to leave when confronted by security, telling them his stunt was “fair game”.

A TV insider said: “While security measures have always been in place, there was always the hope that the relatively remote location of the Big Brother house might limit the number of people who might attempt to access the house.

BIG MISTAKE

Furious Big Brother fans ‘call Ofcom’ and demand two housemates are thrown out

“But given how popular the reboot of the show has been since launching last week, it has become clear there’s a huge interest in it.

“And putting footage of attempts to access the house on social media makes it a tempting prospect.

“The message bosses want to put out is, ‘Don’t even bother trying — you won’t succeed.”

The original house at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Herts, was demolished when Channel 5 axed the show in 2018.

The new one is in a relatively low-profile spot in North West London.

But that hasn’t stopped fans seeking it out and trying to work out how to get close to the action, particularly outside in the garden where housemates often gather.

Now more regular patrols are taking place outside the purpose-built studios where the show, hosted by Will Best and AJ Odudu, is filmed.

A Big Brother spokeswoman said: “We have robust and rigorous safety measures across our site for the safety of the Big Brother house, production team and housemates.

“Safety and welfare is always a priority.”

Gino goes for bust

A WAITER makes a boob in the first episode of Gino D'Acampo's new ITV1 series, Italy: Secrets Of The South – by serving him just one pastry known as a nun’s breast.

The telly chef is presented with the classic Italian delicacy tette delle monache – a dough ball stuffed with cream and caked in sugar – with a big glass of Amaro herbal liqueur.

He then asks the waiter: “Do you think I could have more breasts? There’s only one – I can’t have that. Only one breast? He doesn’t know me.”

Later in the series, which starts on Sunday at 7.30pm, Gino meets an Italian gran to learn how to cook traditional smoked pork meatballs.

But when he asks her if he can keep the recipe, he gets a slap on the wrist

He told The Sun’s TV Mag, free with the paper tomorrow: “Cooking with grandmothers is the thing I love to do the most.

“I said to her, ‘Why don’t you show my chefs how to do this?’ She said, ‘You’ll have to pay me a lot’.”

KIRSTY WARK will step down as Newsnight’s lead presenter after 30 years on the BBC Two show.

She will leave after the next election – but it won’t stop her hosting more programmes for the broadcaster.

She said: “It will be a massive wrench, but there are exciting times ahead.”

Jeff and Chris hit the road

FORMER Soccer Saturday double act Jeff Stelling and Chris Kamara are among the celebrity pairings taking to the tarmac for the documentary series World’s Most Dangerous Roads.

The show will also feature comedian Seann Walsh and actor Joe Swash, as well as comics Rhod Gilbert and Angela Barnes, Jamali Maddix and Larry Dean, and actors David Harewood and Fraser James.

Completing the line-up are comedians Mike Wozniak and Ola Labib, Olga Koch and Thanyia Moore, and Desiree Burch and Jessica Fostekew.

The new series will be the second on Dave this year, after the first covered roads from Iceland to Australia.

KIT HARRINGTON will star in the BBC’s Christmas adaptation of horror novel Lot. No 249.

The story follows a student investigating the spooky events around an Egyptology student, who owns an ancient mummy kept in his cupboard.

Kit will star alongside Freddie Fox in the Mark Gatiss adaptation, due to hit screens later this year.

Hit list's on song for Beeb

MARVIN and Rochelle Humes’ popular music quiz The Hit List has been commissioned for a seventh series.

The husband-and-wife duo will welcome six contestants hoping to bag the £10,000 winnings when the BBC One show returns next year.

And aside from six regular episodes, Marvin and Rochelle will also welcome six celebrity guests for specials of the quiz programme.

They said: “We have so much fun hosting the show together, and we’re excited to see what this next series will bring.

“We’re looking forward to more Saturday night fun that will have you shouting the answers at your TV!”

Call is an aide for Matt

MATT HANCOCK will receive a call from home in this week’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins – from his lover and former political aide Gina Coladangelo.

As the celebrities are given a chance to phone loved ones from the Vietnam course, the call brings much-needed words of encouragement for Matt – who admits he’s at his lowest point.

On Sunday, in the fifth episode of the seven-parter, he says: “It was a massive boost to talk to Gina.

“She gave me a pep talk, and I could see that she was willing me on, and that was really wonderful.

“It was just at the right moment as well, because the pep talk from home came at the lowest point, when the finish is too far away to feel you can reach it.
