Ranvir Singhs love life – divorce, 20-year age gap with toyboy, Strictly curse

ITV journalist Ranvir Singh joined the channel back in 2012 after a long stint with the BBC and has been a prevalent face on Good Morning Britain ever since.

She works as the show’s political editor and newsreader, and has had a glittering career which has seen her travel round the world and report on major events including the Grenfell fire.

Since 2020, Ranvir has been a panellist on Loose Women and later that year, she took part in Strictly Come Dancing with last year’s winner Giovanni Pernice.

Their partnership was a hot topic throughout the series, in which they placed fifth overall, but her real romance from the show came from an unlikely place.

Keep reading for some insight into the ITV presenter's love life and unconventional experience with the Strictly curse.

Ex-husband

The Good Morning Britain star split from her husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal and revealed the news shortly before appearing on Strictly in 2020.

Ranvir married Ranjeet back in 2012 and she dropped the bombshell comment on GMB.

Despite the fact that she did not reveal much information about the decision, Ranvir admitted that she had checked his phone and “found something that needed addressing”.

The pair had apparently ended their marriage years prior but Ranjeet had decided to keep her personal life under wraps and didn’t want to release the news straight away.

They share a son, Tushaan, who she prefers to keep out of the spotlight.

Ranvir spoke to Woman and Home and confirmed that she wants to “protect” her son by “keeping her private life private” and told them it is “hard work being a working single parent”.

Ranvir admitted: “We’re very attached to one another because it’s just me and him. I do get quite tearful sometimes and I worry he’s going to hate me when he grows up because I was never there.”

Giovanni Pernice

Rumours began to fly about Ranvir and her professional Strictly dance partner Giovanni after the pair’s close bond got fan's minds racing.

Viewers assumed they’d be the perfect pair as they were both single, seemed to get on well and, of course, the obvious passion ignited by their dances.

Giovanni fuelled the rumours further after one dance when he told Ranvir that he “loved her” and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

When she was eliminated from the competition, she took to Instagram to share her thoughts with her fans.

She wrote: “My incredible partner. You, Giovanni, tried your best to get me to the final and I’m just disappointed for you. I adore you.”

The star continued on to say that she was “genuinely proud” of what they had achieved and said it was a “privilege to be part” of Strictly.

Louis Church

After the fire with Giovanni was put out, Ranvir found love with another Strictly star.

Louis was a producer for the 2020 series in which Ranvir competed and worked behind the scenes for the BBC show.

The 26-year-old struck up a romance with Singh and after a “couple months” of dating, they admitted to being “totally in love”.

Ranvir spoke to The Sun about their relationship and said that they were “really happy”.

Louis is the son of television producer Lucas Church, who helped make many recognisable television shows including Big Brother, Pointless and Ambulance.
